Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains how Architect of Life Counselling collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

What information I collect

  • your name, phone number and email address

  • your date of birth, address and emergency contact

  • information you share about your health, wellbeing and circumstances

  • session notes I write after each session

  • payment and booking details

How I collect it

I collect information from you directly when you fill in the booking form on this website, email or call me, book an appointment, or attend sessions. I won’t collect information about you from other people without your consent, unless the law allows it.

Why I collect it

I use your information to provide counselling, arrange and manage appointments, take payment, keep accurate records, and contact you about your sessions. I will not use it for marketing, and I will never sell it.

When information may be shared

I will only share your information:

  • with your consent

  • in the situations explained under Confidentiality on my Client Policies page, such as a serious risk of harm

  • in clinical supervision, without your name or details that could identify you

  • with service providers who help me run my practice, such as my website host, email provider, booking and records system, and payment provider. Some of these providers may store information outside Australia, and I choose providers with strong security protections.

How I store and protect it

Your records are kept electronically in secure, password protected systems. Only I can access your counselling records. As required by Victorian law, records are kept for at least seven years after our last session, or for a young person until they turn 25, and are then securely destroyed.

This website

Please don’t include detailed personal or health information in the booking form. A short note is enough, and we can talk about the rest privately. Like most websites, this site may use cookies and basic analytics to understand how it is used. These do not identify you personally.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, or ask me to correct it, by emailing info@architectoflife.com.au. I will respond within 30 days. In rare cases the law allows me to limit access, and if that happens I will explain why.

Concerns or complaints

If you have a concern about your privacy, please contact me first at info@architectoflife.com.au and I will do my best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the Health Complaints Commissioner Victoria (hcc.vic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
